Being One of the Best Colleges in Indonesia, Water Installation in the Unand Lecture Building Has Not Been Adequate.

Andalas University or commonly known as Unand is the oldest and largest campus in Sumatera. In addition, Unand also earned the nickname of the green campus because of its beautiful environment and many trees around it. However, this is inversely proportional to the facts that occur in the field. Water which is the main source of life is difficult to obtain in the Unand lecture building.
Every afternoon, students usually queued to take ablutions in the toilet of each building. This queue gets longer because the water is of. The students took turns in taking ablution using the water in the tub using two available dips but the water in the tub was also often used up. This happens both in women's and men's toilets. The students also sought other ways to keep ablution and pray. Most will go to the toilet in the library or in the nearest faculties.
"The water is off. I have checked in the next building, the case is the same. So we have forced to go to the Library’s toilet to take ablution." Said Vika, an Indonesian Literature student on Monday (11/11/18) while walking towards the library.
"The water installation is off and will continue until tomorrow morning," answered one of cleaning services when asked by a student on the same day.
Although the set schedule also requires students to stay on campus until the afternoon, this situation has been happening for a long time in Unand. Students expect this problem to be quickly overcome so that every single activity can run smoothly.
